Design begins with customers concept and evolves into completed components

Cad Model Development      

Manufacturable 3D CAD models are developed from raw customer concepts, a variety of 2D or 3D CAD data, or reverse engineered from part samples. Native formats include Unigraphics and SolidWorks.

Piece Part Manufacturing

Job shop type machining and fabrication capabilities include short run production parts, weldments, cast/machined parts and high precision components.

Proto-type Machining

Proto-type machining can be done in short lead times utilizing 2D or 3D milling capabilities with spindle speeds up to 42,000 rpm.
Mold Development:
Cad data is used to design and build precision mold tooling

Permanent and Semi-Permanent Molds  

Molds are 3D machined from CAD data out of alloy steels, tool steels or premium castings. Molds are heat treated and hi-tolerance contours are hi-speed milled and/or EDM finished requiring limited or no benching.

Urethane Injection Molds

Pattern and Corebox Development:
Various types of tooling are built to engineered specifications

Sand Cast Patterns               

Prototype, production and precision sand cast patterns are produced from tool steels, cast iron, aluminum or a wide range of composites for use in short run manual prototype applications to high volume production line machines.

Investment Cast Patterns

Extremely intricate, high precision patterns are 3D machined from aluminum or steel for complex components requiring limited machining.

Hot and Cold Coreboxes

Single or multiple cavity, hot or cold coreboxes are manufactured for any core size and for a variety of horizontal and vertical core machines.

                                                           

Workholding Development:
Precision fixturing systems are engineered to customer machining specifications

Workholding Fixtures           

Zeman will engineer custom workholding solutuions or build customer designed fixtures for HMC, VMC and 4th or 5th axis applications. We will also aid the customer with integration of hydraulic controls and other machine peripherals.

Proto-Type Fixtures

Single or multiple load proto-type fixtures are designed and built to prove out machining processes prior to investment in production tooling.
   

Tombstones

Tombstones can be cast from different grades of cast iron and configured to any of the 50 plus patterns we currently stock or made to customer specified configurations. For even faster turnaround, Zeman will custom fabricate tombstone weldments per customer requirements. High precision base, face and hydraulic supply machining are done to customer specifications.
Process and Gage Equipment Development:
Custom tooling and machines are designed and built for gaging, testing and assembly of foundry and machined components

Gaging Equipment                 

Zeman will design and build simple and multiple feature functional gages, variable gages with data output capabilities and inspection fixtures for multiple feature measurements.

Assembly Equipment

Basic bench top assembly tools and fixtures as well as automated, free standing machines for component assembly with data output are built to exacting standards.

Test Equipment

We design and build a variety of fixtures used to ensure proper component performance.
